How Do I use Mobile Sequences?


Type Rights

Mobile Sequences is controlled by a suite of new type rights.

  • Mobile_Sequence - Allows the user to see the Mobile Sequences option on the Admin page.
  • MobileSequence_Create - Allows the user to create new sequences.
  • MobileSequence_Read - Allows the user to see sequences (including on Mobile)
  • MobileSequence_Update - Allows the user to amend the steps included in a sequence and link the sequence to Work Types.
  • MobileSequence_Archive - Allows the user to delete sequences.

NOTE: For any new type right assignments to take affect users will need to log out and back in to the application.


How do I see Mobile Sequences?

The Mobile Sequences List page is accessed via the Admin page and found within the Jobs section.

Users will need the following type rights to access the option:

  • ADMIN_JOBS
  • MobileSequences_Read

The list page will show users their mobile sequences and which work types they are assigned to.

Users are able to open the Mobile Sequence Notebook by clicking on the name.


Default Sequence

All sites will have a default mobile sequence called 'Standard Sequence'. The standard mobile sequence consists of the following steps.

How do I create a Mobile Sequence?

  1. From the homepage click on the cog which is located in the right-hand corner, this will bring you to the Admin page. 
  2. Click on 'Mobile Sequences' this is located under the 'Jobs' list. 

This will bring you to the sequences page, here you will see a list of all sequences created by all users and which work-types they are assigned to. 

3.      Click on the ' Create New Sequence' button on the top left of the page.  This will open the Create New Mobile Sequence page on the right-hand side. 
  • Mobile Sequence Name: Give your sequence a name. 
  • Default Steps: When creating a new mobile sequence you will always start with three default steps, Travelling, Complete Activities, and Complete Appointment, (you can change this later). 
5.    Click ' Create'. 

This will bring you to the mobile sequence builder, this is where you can amend your sequences and add different transition steps.


How do I add a new Step to a Mobile Sequence?

Now you have created your Mobile Sequence, it’s time to customise it. On the left-hand side, you’ll see your toolbox, which contains all of the tools available to you that you can add to your sequence as a step. 

Warnings and Considerations This step will display any warnings or considerations which link to the Site/Contact. 
Surveys This step will display any surveys assigned to the job.
Camera This step will give the user the option to take photos.
Parts This step will give you the option to view/add parts to the job.
Activities This step will display the activities which need to be completed
Add Activities This step gives you the option to add activities to the job. 
Resource Signature This step will prompt the resource for a signature.
Customer Signature This step will prompt the customer for a signature.
Site History This step will show the Site History e.g. previous appointments. 
 

How do I assign a Mobile Sequence to a Work Type?

Make sure you are happy with your mobile sequence before assigning a work type. Once a work type has been assigned the sequence will appear for all mobile users, if they have enabled the ‘Mobile Sequences’ preference on their device.

  1. Navigate to the Mobile Sequence Notebook page
  2. Use the cog button next to the mobile sequence’s name
  3. This will open a slide in modal
  4. You are able to amend the Name
  5. You are able to search the Work Types field and add/remove multiple work types.
  6. Use the Save button to confirm your changes

How do I turn Mobile Sequences off in the Mobile app?

Mobile users can enable the Mobile Sequences preference by following the steps below.

  1. Log in to the Oneserve mobile app.
  2. Navigate to the Settings page and select ‘Preferences
  3. Use the switch to turn the ‘Mobile Sequences’ preference off.

How do I complete appointments with Mobile Sequences?

In order to use Mobile Sequences with your appointments the following criteria must be met.

  • The user has MobileSequences_Read type right
  • The user has turned the ‘Mobile Sequences’ preference on
  • The work type for a given appointment has a mobile sequence assigned.

If the above criteria are all true then when opening an appointment from the schedule page the user will be shown the first step of the sequence.

They can then use the on-screen ‘Next’ and ‘Back’ buttons to progress through the sequence.
