How Do I… use Two Factor Authentication?
This article goes through how to enable Two Factor Authentication for users and the process a user with Two Factor Authentication enabled will go through.
Oneserve MFA currently supports Two Factor Authentication using SMS.
How Do I Enable Two Factor Authentication for a User?
To enable Two Factor Authentication users will need the following Type Rights:
- Users_Read
- Users_Update
- Users_Admin
Steps to enable Two Factor Authentication for a user:
- Navigate to the User List page
- Using the pencil icon, open the Update User drawer
- In the Additional Settings section, tick the Enable Two Factor Authentication checkbox
- Use the Update button to save the changes.
How Do I Log In with Two Factor Authentication?
The login process outlined below will be the same on both Desktop and Mobile devices.
- Navigate to the Login page
- Enter your username and password, and click the Login button
- You will be prompted to provide a phone number that you can receive SMS with
- Once your phone number is saved we’ll take you back to the Login page
- Enter your username and password, and click Login
- Within a few seconds you’ll receive a six digit code via SMS
- Enter your login code on the Two Factor Authentication page, and click Login
